THE POWER OF MANIFESTING

The Power of Manifesting, co-authored with Anne Jirsch, is a wellbeing book with a difference, it invites readers to harness cosmic energy to transform all areas of their lives using a blend of science and wisdom. As a yoga teacher, I've been exploring the spiritual world for many years but this quest first began at a very young age. My father was a bit "quirky" and fascinated by the paranormal, our after dinner games were mind-reading and trying to bend spoons! 

From the age of seven I started reading about ghosts, witches and all things spooky. I was given my first set of tarot at 17 years old and also started to connect with my dreams, in a deep way, and received warnings about people and premonitions. 

From then on, I explored astrology, ESP, the craft, you probably know the path I've walked down...I even chose a career in journalism and writing thanks to an in-depth astrology consultation when I was 21 years old (I'm Gemini rising). Looking back, I can see that I've made a career out of my interest because I've been writing about the spiritual world and wellbeing for 30 years. I even had a full page in The Daily Mirror called "Spirit and Fate" interviewing people about their experiences, which ran for three years.

As a weird footnote, I badly burned my hands as a child, about aged three, and a few years later I fell into a deep pond and survived. Trial by fire and water? That's probably another kind of interview, for another time...

The Power of Manifesting is an empowering guide to helping you to create new meaning, purpose and intention in your life. Manifesting is based on the law of attraction, the belief that a positive mindset (and actions) will attract positive things into your life. Through simple techniques, that Anne has taught for many years, and many I've used myself, you will learn how to reveal your purpose, attract positive people into your circle and even invite new financial opportunities - all through the power of manifestation. 

With a wealth of useful advice and easy to follow exercises, the book aims to explain what manifesting is and how you can use it to tap into your own inner, cosmic energy and connect to the flow of the universe. 

Yes, all the time! I've manifested: two beautiful homes, two rescue dogs, a new car, yoga teaching opportunities, free holidays (through travel writing), a publishing deal for my debut supernatural novel The Winter's Sleep and work as a freelance journalist (there's more but I don't want to bore you). I'd like to be able to say I manifested my partner of 29 years but the universe threw me in at the deep end, our meeting was all pure fate - I really wasn't looking for a man. But then he's Cancer (rising sign Scorpio) and I'm Scorpio (with my Moon in Cancer) anyone interested in astrology will know about that heady mix.

That's a very good question (even though I'm interviewing myself...) I don't think you can use the manifestation to win the lottery as such because the universe doesn't deal in pure cash, it's more of an outcome process. You need to have a goal, a concrete aim or idea, and then put into action steps to make it happen - get the ball rolling, so to speak. At this point, the universe will step in and help you - but you need to be prepared to be open to how the help will materialise as it can be in odd ways. 

For example, I needed a new car (my vintage Suzuki Jimny began to shake violently if I went above 40 miles an hour) so I visualised myself receiving a new car. There are loads of different ways to work with manifesting, vision boards being popular, but for me visualisation works well. Anyway, my mother sold her house, it was a nightmare and I sorted all the legal stuff out for her, which took months; and she said if I managed to claim back some overpaid tax (again, a real pain) then I could put the money towards a new car. I managed to get this tax refund, traded in my beloved but battered Jimny as part-ex, and in the end I only had to add £200 out of my bank account for a new 4x4 Suziki Swift. Result!

There are do's and don'ts for manifesting. In the book, we highlight five rules for working with cosmic energy. I will be posting these rules (plus a few more tips) on my social media @MonicaCafferkyBooks in the run up to publication. 

There's lots of science in the book too to prove that manifestation is real, that thoughts can create your reality.
